One of the most talked about skincare treatments available today is microdermabrasion. One has read in magazines, a number of times, of celebrities raving about the treatment and what miracles it has done to their complexion. Not that long ago the only places where where you could experience the treatment was in aesthetic clinics and beauty salons or spas.

The first micro-dermabrasion treatments were carried out using extremely fine abrasive medical grade crystals. The at home microdermabrasion kits have become immensely popular as they do not cost as much to purchase. The at home microdermabrasion machines are often much milder, which, in the long term might mean you need to repeat the procedure more often before any results are visible. A common disgruntle concerning the home treatments are slight inflammation and irritation (mostly resulting from using it too often or not following the instructions).
